Who can use us?
The general public, anyone who wishes may use the information shop service

TMBC Social services and West Pennine Health Authority, will refer all individuals who have been offered a funded placement, to us for detailed information about homes and current vacancies

Others who require residential/nursing care, but who are self funding, should also use our services to enable an informed choice.

How to access information.

Visit our shop on Stamford Street, it is like a reference library, where you can spend time, sit and browse through all the literature, including registration and inspection reports

By telephone or via postal/fax enquiry. Although, for cost reasons, neither registration and inspection reports nor marketing leaflets are able to be sent to you by post

What information do we hold?
Leaflets of all homes participating in the project, enabling you to compare one home to another and what it costs

Registration and inspection reports af all homes. You will be able to look at these reports which provide details of all aspects of how the various care homes carry out their duties

The marketing leaflets of all homes participating in the project

List of residential care homes, nursing care homes and dual registered care homes in Tameside and Glossop

The information service CANNOT..
Direct your choice or otherwise interfere in your choice of home or enter into discussion about individual homes

Accompany individuals to view homes, phone up homes to make appointments for individuals to view or in any way give financial advice about entering a home
